Mopapp receives € 1,5Mln funding from CRIF

The company signed a capital increase, acquiring the 25% of the Italian startup, with the possiblity to rise its share to 40%

The Italian startupp Mopapp, the first in Italy to win a € 500K funding from Seedcamp, received a further € 1,5 mln investment from CRIF.

What is MOPAPP?

Mopapp is a service that allows to easily monitor, track and analyze the performance of any app developed for tablets and smartphones, providing information on their downloads, selling and revenues.
Mopapp was created in 2010 starting from an idea of Alessandro Rizzoli, Marco Bellinaso and Federico Sita, winning in 2011 the Microsoft Bizspark contest.

This service is essentially a tool to aid developers of mobile apps to analyze and understand their products’ performance in the mobile app market: from download statistics to updates, from apps sold to users’ purchase behaviour on the most common platforms. In fact, Mopapp is developed for the most important platforms such as iTunes, Android Market, RIM App World, Windows Phone 7 Marketplace, Amazon Appstore, GetJar and even less known ones.

The company, which has its HQ in London, received the € 1,5Mln investment from CRIF, a firm specialized in banking credit information, business and commercial information and decisional support for banks and financial companies.
Specifically, CRIF signed a reserved capital increase, that will allow the company to get initially the 25% of Mopapp, with the option to raise to 40% in the 6 months following the sign of the deal.

As Mopapp CEO Alessandro Rizzoli explained:
“Integrating CRIF competencies in developing decisional algorithms for the financial sector will be beneficial to us, will improve our performances and speed up our analysis platform even more”

To quicken the product growth, CRIF will provide the startup with qualified and experienced personnel.
